History

Below are a couple very different video snapshots of history at LREI. This first video shows part of an Economics class Portfolio Project presentation by two 11th grade students. The Project is designed as an introduction into markets and investing. Over the semester pairs of students compete in an online simulated portfolio league. They buy and sell stocks with the goal of developing their own investment strategy. At the end of the term they write a paper and give presentations, how they chose investments, detailing the success (or failure of their choices, and what macro-factors impacted the performance of their portfolio.

This next video is an “advertisement” made by two 10th graders for their US History class. Their task was to create a persuasive product that convinces the audience to either join the Revolutionary cause or oppose it. They were asked to use a creative medium and take on the voice of an actual Patriot/Loyalist (Tory) from history, or create a character who is historically accurate.
