Monday, April 25th

  • 5:45 am: Set your alarms! Meet at Charlton Street for bus to LGA.We will depart as quickly as possible. 8:45 am: Flight from LGA direct to Detroit, Michigan DELTA 189
  • 11:00 am:Arrive Detroit Airport; shuttle vans to Inn on Ferry Street
  • 12:00 pm: Unload bags at Inn on Ferry Street
  • 12:15: Lunch and walk to CASS for Workshop
  • 1:30: Workshop with CASS
  • 5:00: Check in at Inn on Ferry Street and rest
  • 7:15: Dinner

Tuesday, April 26th

  • 8 am: Breakfast @ Inn on Ferry Street
  • 9 am: Wheelhouse Detroit Bikes tour of near East Side of Detroit
  • 12:00: Lunch and group meeting
  • 2:00: Detroit Institute of Art seminar on DIA’s role in urban revitalization Evening: Dinner and informal tour of Hamtramck neighborhood

Wednesday, April 27th

  • 8:00 am: Breakfast at Inn on Ferry Street
  • 9:00 am: Tour of Detroit with Richard Feldman from Boggs Center
  • 12:00: Lunch and travel to Shinola
  • 2:00pm: Tour of Shinola production facility and informal tour of surrounding neighborhood
  • Evening: Detroit Tigers vs. Oakland Athletics, Comerica Park

Thursday, April 28th

  • 8:00 am: Breakfast at Inn on Ferry Street
  • 10 am:Tour and meeting at Michigan Urban Farming Initiative 12-1 pm: Lunch
  • 1 pm: Service project at Forgotten Harvest
  • Evening: Pizza dinner at Amici’s Pizza and Living Room

Friday, April 29th

  • 8:00 am: Breakfast at Inn on Ferry Street
  • 9:00 am:Travel to airport
  • 12:05: Flight: Delta 1948 direct to New York
  • 1:57 pm: Arrival @ Laguardia; students are either picked up at airport or travel to school with teachers
